What Every Parent Hopes For Their Family

If you’re like most parents, you look at your child and wonder what kind of person they will grow up to be. You know that you can’t always be there.  You want them to learn to be strong and independent. You realize that it is up to you to make the important choices in your child’s development. As a parent, you want to give them the tools to to succeed and create an amazing life, right?

One choice is clear, and that is enrolling in the martial arts. Students will learn the value of paying attention, believing in themselves, and feeling good when they do their best. Through hard work, they will earn the self-esteem to stand up for themselves when needed. Your child will learn the values of being goal-oriented, making good choices, never giving up, and to always do the right thing

Tenets of Tae Kwon Do
At SMA these values are reinforced during every class.  
Courtesy refers to the student's ability to respect oneself, as well as others.
Integrity refers to the student's adherence to a personal honor code of behavior.
Perseverance refers to the student holding steadfast to a course of action, belief or purpose.
Self-Control refers to the student's capability to keep their emotions and actions consistent and in balance over time.
Indomitable Spirit refers to a positive attitude and the student freeing their spirit in a manner which enables them to achieve their full potential.

Each month we focus on a new life skill that supports the tenets.  Students learning the definition of each skill and we talk through examples to learn how to use each skill during their martial arts training, at school or work and at home. 

Tae Kwon Do training incorporates a broad range of cardiovascular exercise, self-defense techniques, balance drills, calisthenics and several other physical exercises. Training can improve your overall physical condition, strength, coordination, balance and muscle speed.

Tae Kwon Do can make a real difference in the student's life.  It gives participants the tools for success in life.
